This is Suzy and David. They had their first date here at Como Lake. At a later date they adventured to the lake again, but this time it was for the proposal. We know where this leads, so here we are, and I am taking pictures of the love they've known and grown over the last couple years.
For me Como Lake has been a place of nostalgia, as I first remember my Dad taking me here as a young girl to walk around the lake, see the animals at the zoo, and get dizzy on the rides. During college I spent my evenings zooming around the lake and pondering many mysteries that were on my mind at the time. In the winter, like many, I found myself at the Conservatory soaking up the humidity on my skin from the rainforest room, and breathing in the succulent smell of orchids and flowers housed within.
I love sharing connections to places with couples. Our mutual love for this place combined with the different memories we each have with it makes for a meaningful photo shoot. It's not just about beautiful pictures, it's a celebration of the journey, together.
Reflecting on the shoot, I thought it was adorable that they brought their cat. So cats definitely rank high on the list of difficult subjects to shoot, and I don't even care because this just made the shoot fun. At the end of the session there was lightning dancing in distance as we finished shooting on the dock. The rain started literally after the last shot. See you two in October!
